The end of the Feed-in-Tariff followed by Covid-19, Solar PV installations, like most things, had a rough 2019 and 2020. It can't be denied though, the end of 2021 saw the highest ever number of installs since government subsidies ended. Especially good news, these were mainly in the sub 4kW residential market showing a strong movement by households to adopt self-generated renewble energy on its own economic and environmental merits.
At Absolar we are busy scanning towns and cities for their solar potential, this also includes mapping out the existing solar deployments and we hope to publish these results soon, mapping out every installation and its size to give real insight to our progress so far as a nation and inform on the challenge ahead.
