Absolar is a leading commercial solar project developer in Eastleigh, helping forward-thinking businesses take control of their energy future with smart, reliable solar solutions.
Installing commercial solar panels in Eastleigh isn’t just a smart environmental decision - it’s a powerful financial and strategic investment for your business. Here are the top five reasons why more commercial property owners in Eastleigh are making the switch to solar:
1. Significant Energy Cost Savings
Eastleigh benefits from some of the highest solar radiation levels in the UK, making it an ideal location for solar energy generation. By installing rooftop solar panels, commercial buildings can drastically reduce their electricity consumption from the grid and lower monthly energy bills. For Eastleigh's commercial buildings, you can request a free solar survey here.
2. Stable, Predictable Returns Over 30 Years
Using representative market values in Eastleigh, a typical commercial solar project delivers a 34% Internal Rate of Return (IRR), with an average payback period of just 4 Year and 5 Months. With a lifespan of 30+ years, solar offers long-term energy price stability and strong financial performance.
3. Increased Property Value and Finance Options
Solar PV systems are considered a capital improvement that can significantly enhance the value of commercial properties. With access to asset-based finance through Absolar's Finance Partners, Eastleigh-based property owners can unlock renewable energy solutions without upfront capital, helping to maintain healthy cashflow while upgrading the property's sustainability credentials.
4. Generate Revenue from Surplus Energy
When your solar system generates more power than your building consumes, Absolar enables your business to export the excess electricity back to the grid. By selling surplus energy to certified suppliers, you create a new income stream while supporting the UK's transition to cleaner energy.
5. Lower Your Carbon Footprint and Support Net Zero Goals
More businesses in Eastleigh are taking leadership roles in climate action. Installing commercial solar panels is one of the most effective ways to cut carbon emissions, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and demonstrate your commitment to sustainability. Solar helps your organisation meet ESG targets and progress towards Net Zero.

Commercial solar projects involve multiple parties, and their development can be a complex and lengthy procedure. We summarise the start-to-finish into 5 key steps to help you visualise the process. We have also published a detailed timeline diagram, which can be found here.
Absolar starts every project by presenting clients a remote solar survey report, which details the building's feasibility, estimated project cost, financial viability and payback period estimate. You can request a remote survey for your building here. it's free and totally zero-obligation. After that, Absolar engineers will visit your property for a site survey, collecting internal building information, proceeding to a Grid Application, which is required by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) for any solar PV project. As the grid application takes up to 3 months, Absolar engineers will work with you during this period to obtain other required paperwork such as planning permission and structural survey.
After the collection of all permissions, Absolar engineers will arrange with you a project commencing date. The entire project will not cause any disruption of your business operations, and the whole process is likely to take 2 - 5 weeks, depending on project size.

Matt Sheen, CEO at Draper Tools
I had the privilege of unveiling Draper Tools' ambitious 900+ solar panel installation at their North Baddesley site this week. This is already generating 73% of the facility’s power needs and is set to prevent over 100 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
Delivered by local solar specialists Absolar, this project sets a strong example of how businesses can lead the way in sustainability while also securing long-term energy savings.
Caroline Nokes, MP
An exceptional service from start to finish. Planning, preparation and installation of our 489 PV panels was completed with clear and detailed communication and there was no interference to day-to-day operations. Highly recommended.
Chris Hobbs, Business Development Director at Hobbs the Printer
From the very first meeting, I was won over and every touch point since has just reinforced my view of Absolar. They are brilliant and at what they do - and infectiously passionate about it. The initial proposal was logically laid out, compelling and contained all the financial justification elements a business would need (this made a potentially subjective decision highly objective). Having had our system for 3 years, we have experienced amazing ongoing collaboration and support. I could not be happier with our PV system and the support we get from Absolar… just awesome...
