Absolar's AI survey technology

Check your solar potential
with a few clicks

Powered by 3rd-generation AI, our remote solar assessment checks if your building is suitable to install solar PV systems. It brings you a remote assessment report within 2 working days.

All it needs is the building address and an email address so it can send you the report.

If your building has half-hourly energy meter, our model is able to fetch your latest energy data and integrate into financial projections.

FAQ

What is a Remote Solar Survey and how does it work?
+

A Remote Solar Survey is Absolar's AI and LiDAR-powered feasibility assessment, carried out with no site visit required. Using LiDAR, photogrammetry, satellite imagery and AI-powered irradiance modelling, we assess your building's roof, shading and energy use. Every result is reviewed by our experienced solar designers and engineers before it reaches you.

Our AI tool identifies:

  • Optimal rooftop area, including shading analysis
  • Number of solar panels that can fit, clear of obstacles
  • Installation costs, savings, export income and payback
  • Integrated address-based location and wider datasets
How accurate is a Remote Solar Survey without a site visit?
+

LiDAR scanning captures a building's roof in 3D detail, including features like skylights, vents and flues that satellite imagery alone can miss. Combined with AI-powered irradiance modelling and a manual review by our solar engineers, this gives an assessment accurate enough to be used by high-street banks. If half-hourly energy meter data is available for your building, our model integrates it directly into the financial projections.

How much does a Remote Solar Survey cost?
+

A Remote Solar Survey is provided free of charge to the end user. This is made possible through Absolar's partnerships with organisations that support faster, wider adoption of solar assessment for commercial property.

What types of properties can be assessed, and where?
+

Absolar assesses commercial and business premises anywhere in the UK. Properties with a footprint over 200m² and annual electricity consumption above 50,000kWh see the strongest economic case for solar, though smaller premises can still benefit from an assessment. For residential portfolios, contact us directly to discuss.

What if I have a portfolio of properties to assess?
+

Absolar's technology can assess large areas, including entire cities, in a short period of time, making it suited to portfolio-scale assessment. Email survey@absolar.co.uk with details of your portfolio for a tailored assessment.

If I want to proceed, can you help me get it installed?
+

Yes. Following your Remote Solar Survey, Absolar's engineering team can take your project through design, procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance.
