The Draper Tools Ltd headquarters in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire is a large industrial–commercial complex designed to combine corporate office space with extensive warehousing and distribution facilities.
The building sits along Hursley Road and presents a broad, functional frontage typical of late-20th-century light-industrial architecture, with a strong emphasis on practicality and logistics. Architecturally, the complex is characterised by large-span warehouse structures constructed with steel portal frames and wide loading bays to accommodate goods handling and vehicle access.

Energy saving: The site has high electricity demand from offices and operations on site. After the installation of solar PV system, the annual electricity production is projected to be 200,500 kWh.
Sustainability impact: the Draper Tools has announced high sustainability ambitions, including the switch to non-plastic packaging. The adoption of solar energy systems is aligned with their vision in net-zero.
Project management: The project was managed by a dedicated project manager to ensure that no obstruction was caused to the day-to-day operations of the site and to the production.

We’ve been really impressed with Absolar’s work, so much so that after the immediate success and the seamless delivery of their first solar installation at ourNorth Baddesley warehouse, we commissioned them a second time for our headoffice building. Both of these buildings are very large and not without challenges, but the Absolar team managed the entire process efficiently andcrucially, with minimal disruption to our daily operations.
