Absolar Joins the UK Science Park Association

January 26, 2026

Absolar is pleased to announce that we have become a member of the UK Science Park Association (UKSPA), a national network representing science parks, innovation districts, and organisations working at the intersection of research, technology, and commercial application.

UKSPA plays a central role in supporting environments where innovation moves from concept to real-world impact.

Its members include universities, research institutions, technology businesses, and infrastructure providers who share a focus on long-term value creation through science and engineering; and this aligns closely with how we approach commercial solar.

Engineering-Led Solar for Complex Buildings

Absolar works exclusively with commercial and institutional buildings where performance, safety, and longevity matter.

Many of these sites share common characteristics across science parks and innovation campuses: high energy demand, complex roof structures, critical operations, and long investment horizons.

Rather than treating solar as a standardised product, we design each system as an engineered energy asset. Our approach combines detailed site analysis, half-hourly consumption data, and conservative performance modelling to ensure systems deliver reliable outcomes over decades, not just at commissioning.

Intelligence Built Into Every Project

A defining part of Absolar’s work is the integration of data and intelligence throughout the lifecycle of a solar system.

We use advanced analysis tools, including AI-assisted modelling and performance monitoring, to inform design decisions and to support ongoing operation once systems are live.

This allows us to move beyond static forecasts, providing building owners and operators with clear visibility into system performance, risks, and opportunities for optimisation over time.

A Natural Fit with the UKSPA Community

Science parks and innovation campuses are uniquely positioned to lead by example in the transition to low-carbon infrastructure.

Many sites have already come testbeds for cutting-edge research and technology; energy systems should reflect the same level of rigour and forward thinking.

By joining UKSPA, Absolar looks forward to engaging with organisations that value evidence-based decision making, long-term planning, and the practical application of technology to real operational challenges.

Our introduction is now live on the UKSPA website, and we look forward to meeting fellow members in upcoming events and conferences, participating in conversations and projects that push the boundary in energy efficiency innovations.
